I was just told this from a local "friend", huge cap hit of $7.8 M could be partially offset by the Rangers. He's in play right now & the NYR need him off the books. He is a great player during 5 on 5 play, had a lousy injured plagued season. We will see.

It was a pretty quick conversation but as I recall he was the #1 pick early 2000's & is in his early 30's, he didn't have tons of time left either like 2018 he becomes a FA. No idea why anyone would see this as a bad thing, he's always been pretty stout as I remember him.

Nash disappears for stretches and has been a massive disappointment in new york. There's a reason the sinking rags are trying to jettison him

If it's short term and he can help get us to the playoffs, I'd be ok with this.

Anything beyond 3 years, no. I'd prefer 2. He can get us to the playoffs then disappear, and in two years our core will have playoff experience and be poised for a run.

nash is in a two year deal and there's no one better out there short handed than Nash. Plus he's a three zone monster.
