Today was the long jump trial and the top 3 make the team.

He came in 7th.

Good try though Marquis!

Hopefully he doesn't make the Bills roster too.

Complete waste of a roster spot.

He wanted to win a medal and now he does even crack the top 5 in the US?

Even if he matched his personal best distance from earlier this year, we would have just taken 3rd. It was a really strong field with 2 guys breaking 28 feet.

Well, at least he gave it a shot.

Ironic because he's our 7th best WR.

Ironic because he's our 7th best WR.

Which makes him about the 200th best WR in the US. So at least he is way better in long jump ...

Bills’ Marquise Goodwin fails to make U.S. Olympic team

Bills wide receiver Marquise Goodwin (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/8461/marquise-goodwin) came up short in his bid to make the Olympics as a long jumper.
Goodwin finished a disappointing seventh place in the U.S. Olympic trials on Sunday, meaning he will be in Buffalo, not Rio, this summer.
Coming into the trials, Goodwin had the two longest jumps in the world (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/06/06/bills-marquise-goodwin-a-gold-medal-favorite-in-the-long-jump/) so far this year, 8.45 meters and 8.42 meters. But in the trials the longest jump he managed was 8.25 meters.
That’s a big disappointment for Goodwin, who has acknowledged that he cares more about the long jump (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/06/10/marquise-goodwin-long-jumps-for-love-plays-football-for-money/) than he does about football. But it gives him a better shot of making the Bills this year: If he had missed training camp to go to Rio, there’s a good chance he wouldn’t have made it on the Bills’ 53-man roster. He’ll have a much better chance now that he can put all his focus on football.

the guy is always hurt and is just fast, I out lined in blue where he has said he likes the long jump better than football, not my kind of player hope he gets cut early and give someone who has football as there number 1 goal a shot.

A shame.

I think his odds of making this years opening day roster are longer than ever. He can't stay healthy and they drafted another blazing speed type in Listenbee.

I hope he does well, anywhere but on the team.

Goodwin has had THREE catches in the past two years combined. 20 catches in his 3 years here.

I was rooting for him to make the Olympic team because he is a Bill. It would have been a little neat if he qualified so I could kind of root for him in the Olympics out of the corner of my eye...why? Because he is a Buffalo Bill. But I really see no reason for me to root for him to CONTINUE to be a Buffalo Bill over the other guys trying for that spot on the roster. Whatever. We have a QB that can throw the long ball, but we have other speedsters at the position, like was already said. You gotta wonder at Goodwin's "potential" as a football player anymore, going into his fourth year.

Maybe his wife will make the Olympics

Too bad for him. He definitely won't make the team here. If he does Rex needs to be fired on the spot.

He seems to be a great guy and if you read why he jumps you'll feel better about the man. But his days in the NFL should've been over a year ago. He's just not a football player. Always hurt and he can only do one thing.

The word is he tweaked him hamstring that's why he didn't do well.

Great.
