All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Well, he is part of the new Axis of Evil...Trump, Putin, Kraft...
In all seriousness, back to your post about the league being a joke, I think its actually reached the point of being a farce. It was starting to be a joke twenty or even thirty years ago. Honestly, I think Goodell deserves this. I mean, sure its a low interest game competing against the world's premier sporting event taking place down in Rio and HOF games never are high ratings games, but its a great encapsulation of the incompetence and bungling of the Goodell era. This game became a farce a decade ago when the Pats got busted for cheating, and were punished by Goodell destroying all the evidence. I mean that kinda confirmed everything people were saying about the lack of fairness in the league, and was in line with every questionable call and non call the Refs have made since the late 90s from just give it to them and homerun throwback to the present. However, I think the league does not mind people focus on the in game rigging because although they love crafting and framing a good story, they know to most people it does not mean a whole lot and people will tune in and the league and its corporate partners will haul in the cash. I mean this is a league where star qbs rape women, Ben Rothlinsberger, punch out their wives and girl friends, and beat their kids. This says nothing of the concussion scandal. Will not having an HOF game be the end of the NFL? No. However, it might harbinger the end of the Goodell regime.
The HOF game will not be the end of the league, the concussion plague will.
What kind of lies are these? The paint is the problem???? Then scrape the paint off and play the game. Patch the turf. B O G U S ! ! !
It's FieldTurf.
Repairing FieldTurf requires sewing the patch in place.
..."The surface is composed of monofilament polyethylene blend fibers tufted into a polypropylene backing. The infill is composed of a bottom layer of silica sand, a middle layer which is a mixture of sand and cryogenic rubber, and a top layer of only rubber. The fibers are meant to replicate blades of grass, while the infill acts as a cushion. This cushioned intended to improve safety when compared to earlier artificial surfaces and allows players to plant and pivot as if they were playing on a grass field.[5]
Each square foot of turf contains approximately 3 kg (7 pounds) of sand and 1.5 kg (3 pounds) of cryogenic rubber. FieldTurf does not use shock absorbency pads below its infill. The backing of the turf is a combination of woven and non-woven polypropylene. These materials are permeable and allow water to drain through the backing itself.[6]"
Looks like somebody did the artwork with a glossy, cross-linking paint, with strong adherence to the polyethylene fiber. No mean feat that...in the coatings biz polyethylene is a pretty non-reactive (low-energy) material.
I'd go to the hardware store and get a belt sander or a floor sander with coarse grit media and abrade the daylights out of the coating, pierce it all over with awls and screwdrivers, and throw sand on it.

maybe this is a good thing...this could get NFL talking about getting rid of preseason altogether! the games don't mean anything anyways! just another way to get players hurt! get rid of the preseason games and keep the players in TC

Get rid of preseason and extend the regular season by 2 games.
