That brings back the memories - the crowds here that railed on and on about how they are playing "vanilla" defenses in the preseason so they won't tip their hand.

Are you really surprised there isn't a lot of people at a preseason game? Especially considering there have been thunderstorms all day and when it was a 90% chance to have thunderstorms during the game. I'm not.

Exactly. I never watched him play, so I based my expectations on what other on here said, so I imagined he'd look awful. But Tasker said it right, "Jones has looked like something E.J. never has in Buffalo... comfortable"

I'm not going to ***** because this was a preseason game, but that was outrageous pass interference on the 4th and 3 bomb. The guy made no attempt to look for the ball and just dove straight onto the back of our wideout's legs before the ball got there.

You might like this publication - I'm pretty sure it's long out of print - The Romantic Movement in American Writing - by Richard Fogle of Tulane. It was published 1n 1966 by the Odyssey Press of New York. It preceded the ISBN classification system, I suppose, but my copy shows the Library of Congress catalog number as 66-12940.

I don't know how his game matures or if it does, but you see a big diff in pocket presence/awareness from Manuel to Jones, I think anyway.

Oh wait, that was Dimmesdale, never mind. Actually, it was assigned reading when I was in high school. So I did what any self respecting high school slacker did, I cheated myself out of reading a great work of literature and used cliffnotes and bull****ting to get through. Oh well, about three years ago I read it. Damn good book, it has how unconfessed guilt can destroy us, how hate and unforgiveness are worse vices than adultery. Its a pretty damn kickass book. The Great Gatsby was another book I finally read. Perhaps in the second pre-season game I will employ it in my commentary if there is anything at all like an opening.

Not only that, but Jones has the confidence to throw the ball on time when needed. EJ seems like he constantly is second guessing his decision to release it, and then a split second later it's too late.

The last td pass was something I wanted to see from him - stand in the pocket and deliver on a short cross, never mind that it was in the red zone in traffic. He aced it.

Playing the Colts in preseason is an irritant. In the last 3 preseasons they were 1 and 11. They lay down to suit their purposes, and you lose fair evaluation of your own players. They are the same outfit that had the NFL schedule more divisional games in the latter part of the season because they emptied the bench when they had a playoff spot sewed up.

Thanks to geographic proximity - (read that as cheap costs for owners) - CIN/IND preseason tilts are common.

..."Indianapolis will close out the preseason with a trip to Cincinnati. The two teams have met in the preseason every year since 2001 and traditionally in the finale. The Bengals hold a 16-8 preseason series record, which includes a 9-6 victory in Indianapolis in 2015."...

http://wane.com/2016/04/07/colts-announce-2016-preseason-schedule/

Take nothing away from a preseason performance against IND. Regardless of it's the 1st or 4th. CIN mostly plays them in the final game because they know how they roll and they know it's the final roster performance.

You learned something today.

Doesn't matter, it was the 1st preseason game. Any bumpkin can notice how a player plays, factor in that it's preseason against 3rd and 4th string and still be happy or sad how a player played.

Do you have too much time on your hands and feel compelled to try and out think yourself or something ?

Leonard Hankerson's performance really disappointed me.

Thought we might have something on the backend as a dependable guy to get about 30-35 targets and 20 catches.

Don't know where the hands of stone came from as he didn't look like that in Washington when he was allowed to play.
