People thinking Tyrods cap number in 2017 is $27.5 Million

Spotrac has the $15.5 million option paid out March 2017 being spread over the last 5 years of the contract.. Meaning $3.1 million added to Tyrods $12 million base salary and a previous signing bonus of $133 334 = Tyrods 2017 cap hit at just over $15 million dollars

A current summary of Buffalo Bills 2024 player cap & cash figures.

The Bills are close to $ 9 million under the cap for 2017 and that figure does not take into a ccount the cap going up so depending on how much the cap goes up in 2017 they are anywhere from $14 million to $19 million under the cap for 2017

The Buffalo Bills 2017 salary cap table, including team cap space, dead cap figures, and complete breakdowns of player cap hits, salaries, and bonuses.

The Bills really don't have any other major needs to address in FA next year so they should just sign Gilmore now with that cap space.

They basically get Ragland and Lawson fully healthy next season as "draft picks"

Then they can focus on the OL and S positions in the draft. Maybe WR.

      Or QB...

Remember that Tyrod Taylor is not really a known commodity. That's why they gave him the contract that they did. I didn't figure they needed to do that yet. We'll be in tough shape if Taylor has a bad year, with some decisions to make. What's this whole "buyout" for $10 million thing? Sounds like it's another way of saying that we can release Taylor and suffer a $10 million cap hit in dead money. Is that correct? If true, that ain't exactly nothing; in fact, that's what pretty much happened when we released Fitz after giving him a premature contract. Somebody needs to dumb down the "buyout" clause for me.

This could go several ways, but the only good way is if Tyrod Taylor proves himself further this year.
