The Bills (http://www.nfl.com/teams/buffalobills/profile?team=BUF) aren't finished adding much-needed depth to their banged-up defense.

Buffalo plans to add veteran pass rusher Kroy Biermann (http://www.nfl.com/player/kroybiermann/2664/profile) to the mix on a one-year deal, a source who spoke with the player told NFL Media's Conor Orr.
Biermann, 30, spent his first eight seasons in Atlanta, piling up seven sacks over the past two campaigns before the Falcons (http://www.nfl.com/teams/atlantafalcons/profile?team=ATL) chose not to re-sign him this offseason. Bills (http://www.nfl.com/teams/buffalobills/profile?team=BUF) coach Rex Ryan had Biermann in for a visit in March, setting the table for Monday's signing.

No panic here... All we need is good vet back-up here.
1) Manny Lawson will be ready to start game 1.
2) He is not much of a drop off, if any, from rookie Shaq Lawson.
3) Shaq Lawson will be able to unseat Manny Lawson before the end of season... Manny becomes solid vet back-up.

It's like getting Chris Kelsay back with less sacks per year (Kroy 2.9 per year, Kelsay 3.2 per year).

Except Kroy isn't getting grossly over paid. Say what you want but I think Whaley etc.have done well managing the cap thus far.

I agree with that. I loved how they collected vet minimum guys for depth. When they can compete and win a job, they're a find. Mostly though, when they become stopgap starters you find you get what you paid for though. In this case, they paid for a Biermann and got one. He's basically a Chris Kelsay with less sacks per year.

So he replaces Alex Carrington's roster spot in more ways than one? ;)

Like all the things in this league, the Bills can't even be #1 in that area. Denver drafted a guy named Paxton Lynch.

None of the others have the beer-man thing going though.

I briefly considered Bronson Kaufusi (cough-you-see), but I think frat boys are all about beer, man.

I'd give Lynch the Milennial name award though, and Carrington the Ivy league name award though.

he might be a good pick up for Rex's scheme. we seem to forget that Rex's past defense's have never had dominate sack leaders just great pressure and a lot of int's.

7th worst cap situation in 2016 and 6th worst in 2017.
