BETHLEHEM, Pa. - One by one under the bright afternoon sun, the Eagles' rookies filed into their dorm rooms at Lehigh University yesterday.
Receiver Billy McMullen talked about how ready he was to put on the pads. Defensive end Jamaal Green talked about how he wanted to get down and dirty. Others talked about their first taste of the NFL experience.
Jerome McDougle?
He was somewhere else while his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, talked with the Eagles about the money.
Those talks have yet to yield a contract, and beginning with today's morning practice, McDougle will start to miss valuable time on the field and in defensive coordinator Jim Johnson's classroom.
