I have been really impressed with Duke Williams this year. He is playing like every hit counts. Of course when I looked I realized it's a contract year for him, so it's either that or maybe some solid coaching from Ed Reed, but I am excited to watch this kid play.

I've liked this kid since we drafted him, but am getting impatient waiting for the light bulb to come on. Hopefully this is the season it does, we could use help at safety.

He was terrible last year so he has lots of room for improvement.

Wish Aaron Williams would stay healthy, but I digress. How is Meeks doing?

Coming off a 2010 season finishing 4 and 10 with Fitz and Edwards, they grab the Dukester at #34 over QBs Dalton at #35 and Kaep at #36 in the 2nd round 2011 draft.

Numbskulls...

as long as he doesn't start and play a supporting role he serviceable, but starting he's a dumpster fire...

He was dreadful last year. Beyond horrific. Not expecting much.

Duke's a big hitter and I like him as a role player in some sub-packages, but I hope he doesn't have to start any games this year. He's always seemed like kind of a liability in coverage.

Hope you guys are right because last year he was downright abysmal. A liability would be a compliment. Once AW went down it all went downhill with him in the back end. Duke sucked and for some reason Corey Graham decided to have a down year as well. Age maybe ?? Rambo was the only decent player.

Anyway lets truly hope Duke has turned the corner because AW seems like he wont be the same and who knows what to expect from Graham.

Guy singlehandedly loses Pats games.

Then that 3rd and forever assignment he blew last year game two.

He'd have to improve to be below-average. Blanton for 3rd safety, please.

He needs to get away from those "Real Housewives" hoes. We already got Biermann adding to the pile on that.

Guess who got torched by Mike Wallace on the deep td?

Yeah, how dumb was it to have Duke Williams single-cover Mike Wallace?

Coulda even won that game in ugly fashion had that not happened, maybe.

This thread was the first thing I thought of. But like feld said... he had no business taking Wallace without help.

But as a safety, he is the last line of defense so there is no help that he could of had. Also it looked like a cover 2 or 3 call where Duke took the deep man. That means Williams had a 15-20 yard cushion and Wallace just ran by him. As a safety that is inexcusable.

Puke Williams has been absolutely terrible.

The lights are still off, that play basically killed us at the time and took all the wind out of our sails.

Mike Wallace vs any safety in the NFL is a TD.

It was mistake from the coverage assignments.

Yea if you watch the play he has no idea where he's supposed to be.

Really? Any safety?

I'll take any of Vaccaro, Thomas, Berry, Chancellor, Mathieu, Jones, or Jenkins one on one with Wallace. He's not the WR he once was.

How about Any safety to never start a game in the NFL?

It was a poor coverage decision on that play to put Williams singled on Wallace.

Duke Williams is terrible but the coaching on that play call was worse.

Flacco sure as hell didn't miss it. He was getting so excited audiblizing I thought he was gonna piss his pants.

They should have called time out.
This team is just poorly coached and it cost them again.

I can't name anybody that I'd want one on one with Wallace off that list.

Just I've said all along. Calling him a liability is a compliment. Honorable mention to Rex and Rob for having an alignment that leaves DW guy one on one with anybody.

You're just naming good safeties.

Most of those players are rarely or never in one-one coverage with WRs. Especially ones that can run 4.3.

duke williams is to the safety position what chris watson was to cornerback.
