I know there was a brief mention somewhere last week that Wrecks might take an atypical approach to this game and not treat it as the traditional 'warm-up' for the starters tonight, giving more time to the youngsters and still pulling the starters pretty early. Anybody else hear any more on that?

seymour is the "matchup" cousins is looking for. he isn't even looking at the other WRs, whomever is covered by seymour (in man) is his target; good int, that time seymour was looking to jump the out, so cousins threw the late comeback to the opposite side, since it was late, it was a pick.

Not to sound like an internet message board tough guy, but honestly just make the QB a two hand touch and he's "tackled" situation. That was a great pass rush by Alexander. He was going down and hit Cousins in the thighs.

Ingtar33
08-26-2016, 07:05 PM
I want to know how they didn't get a roughing the passer call on tyrod's sack. when the two redskins hit him in the backfeild they both went high and hit him on the head. Was it not a foul because he slipped away from it? is it only a foul if it ends in a sack or injury?

EDIT: I'm amazing we didn't get another one for the hit on Cousins when Garcon dropped that square-in rout.

still the first team defense.

I really don't think we can consider the 'first team defense' ever seeing the field tonight actually, they basically started a bunch of back ups except for Lawson.

Alexander had a really good first quarter.
Buffalo's D has been bailed out by Washington dropsies.
Cyril Richardson flat-out blows, and CB Moore should be among the first cuts.
Bush looked good running the ball.
Duke Williams is slipping back into form (unfortunately), but that defensive holding call was iffy.
For the life of me, I don't know how Cousins carved us up last season, he looks pretty bad tonight.

IMO this first half is a good indication how the season is going to go, at least defensively...play decent for the most part, sometimes dominating and a few big plays, but is going to break down at times, give up more than it's share of big plays and cost us some games.

What a bull**** call on Biermann...that's two for fluffing the QB.

I wanted to watch an honest "dress rehearsal" 3rd preseason football game this evening and that didn't happen.

I could care less about the score of a 3rd preseason game, but after seeing that roughing the passer call I can't help but notice how that BS call gave the Pigs of DC a 14 point edge.

Sounds and looks all too familiar. I tune in to sports to get away from politics.

It's hard to believe, but millions of dollars are spent betting on NFL preseason games.

Sad.

http://www.casinogamblingweb.com/gambling-news/sports-gambling/nfl_betting_begins_with_preseason_games_this_week_54289.html

It is happening again, and the NFL will surely deny its existence like they always do. Starting on Thursday, there will be a full weekend of preseason NFL betting....
....

"The preseason does not normally bring in the same type of action that is seen during the regular season," said gaming expert Neil Brach, "there are, however, the hard core gamblers that have been waiting all year for football, and those are the ones that will drive the preseason betting figures."
