The Bills added a fourth quarterback to the roster in advance of the preseason finale where Austin Trainor is expected to get a good deal of playing time.

He plays against Detroit and then either gets cut the next day or inactive all season.

This makes me think C. Jones is being placed on IR with some minor injury to hide him away for a year.

nobodys getting cut, he was signed simply to prevent injury to the other 3.

Taylor will get a series, maybe two if they only get a couple of plays in on the first drive. EJ will get a quarter, or to the half, depending on how the oline is protecting him. Trainor will get the rest of the game to audition for a PS squad position here (if Cardale is IR'd...I don't think he will be necessarily but I guess it's possible) or elsewhere when he gets cut.

Rex commented that it was stupid to play Taylor against the Redskins so doubt he gets any time versus the Lions. I think as you said that is Trainer's audition for the practice squad.
