Brown comes out of hiding, agrees to deal with Packers

    Signing concludes bizarre week
Missing for the past few days, and out of touch with his agent as he apparently contemplated his NFL future, defensive tackle Gilbert Brown suddenly resurfaced on Saturday afternoon, and in a familiar place.

The nine-year veteran and renowned run-stuffer, incommunicado since mid-week, came out of hiding long enough to agree to a six-year contract with the Green Bay Packers, ESPN.com has learned. Brown, 32, has played his entire career with the Green Bay.

He will sign a six-year contract, one that he negotiated himself, which includes a signing bonus of $400,000 and minimum base salaries for every season. His base salary for '03, given his level of league tenure, is $655,000.
