View Full Version : Which 2 players get cut after the Pats game?

DT Marcel Dareus and OT Seantrel Henderson both return from suspension after this weekend. The Bills will have to cut two players to make room for them on the active roster. So who gets cut?

OG Gabe Ikard seems like an obvious choice since the Bills have 6 interior O-lineman and are thin at OT with Glenn still injured.

There is some speculation that Reggie Bush could be cut since he's played very little and done nothing with the few chances he's had. He's not returning kicks or punts, he didn't get any carries against Arizona and never lined up at WR.

If they cut a defensive player my guess would be LBs McCray or Humber.

Bush and then a OL - Ikard, Groy or Lewis.

Or maybe Henderson himself, but I think that's less likely.

Gay and Bush...Two horrible players who have no use here whatsoever.

Gay and Bush

Those are my picks

Gay will be sent back to the practice squad and then when someone gets hurt, he'll be brought back.

Just so his saga can continue.

Bush never sees the field and doesn't serve a point on this team.

We were down 3 WR's and Clay, and Bush still didn't see the field. He's gone.

I agree that it's likely Bush and Gay.

They would have 10 OL on the roster - certainly possible, but I am not so sure.

I guess it depends on Glenn's status and if Henderson is healthy.

I forgot about Gay. I hope he's one of the cuts. Huge waste of a roster spot.

So I'll guess Gay and Ikard. I still think Rex likes Reggie Bush a lot and RB's get injured pretty easily. Plus he still at least provides depth as a returner if something happens to Tate.

The sad thing is, he gets a million bucks if you release him.

It looks like they didn't waste any time with Gay. I just read that he was released today according to WGR.

Don't worry, he'll be back before the end of the year.

Are we positive both will be activated after this week?

Dareus should be for sure. I don't see why Henderson wouldn't be unless he's had some significant setback with his health since preseason. If they don't activate him though, they'd have to cut him or put him on IR or something. Once his suspension is over they have to do something with him, he can't stay on the suspended list.

Colton Schmidt and Jerry Hughes, because Rex Ryan is just that ballsy.

He decided his team will not punt anymore with the running game success, and if required, Gay was a punter once, sort of. Hughes is getting too big for his britches, this is a Ryan defense, and Ryan makes edge rushers, they don't make him. Gay can rush when he's not bringing Rob some concession snacks.

Sanborn better be on notice too if Shaq comes back, because Gay snapped the ball long once in Pop Warner.

Brandon Tate should be serviceable for KR/PR. CIN didn't use him much at WR - I thought they should have.

I assume he's getting WR snaps during practice with BUF.

Good point, I don't think they'll carry 10 OL if everybody is healthy.

Well apparently cutting Gay had nothing to do with opening up a roster spot for the return of Dareus and Henderson. The Bills have signed another OT today. Michael Ola. He was on the Giants practice squad.

Ola, 28, has appeared in 23 games and made 19 starts in his NFL career. He has previously worked with Bills offensive line coach Aaron Kromer when he played 12 games for the Chicago Bears in 2014 lining up at every position but center that season. He spent most of the 2015 season with the Detroit Lions where he made seven starts at right tackle.

I'm guessing Glenn won't be returning this week.

Who is going to be cut?

Williams and Williams, of course.

We may bring back Williams after his suspension also, which may mean we'll have to cut Williams.

Or it could be a precursor to put Henderson on IR. As Ola could be the G/T we've been missing since lost Chris Hairston in free agency.

Might have been good if we drafted an OL and had him handy.

I think the Ola signing is a result of Kouandjio getting banged up in the last game and missing practice today. Glenn only just returned to practice today, but was limited. That leaves Mills as the only healthy OT on the team right now.

Have we been saving bush for the pats?

Bush and the kick off specialist.

Kickers are better off now not kicking it in the endzone and letting the run back. They usually get tackled before the 25.

Yes - the law of unintended consequences is in force.
