I'm not going to say anything negative about the whole thing again as I have before, because I genuinely want him to succeed, and I'll be rooting for him to do so as it plays out.

Notable, his treatment was for his ADHD, and Bruce Smith is mentoring him. The lengthy article is worth the time to actually read it.

Instead, Dareus, 26, received treatment for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), amid efforts to build a new network of support that he sees as crucial to keeping his life and career in order.

"Rehab" for ADHD sounds like code for "Adderall addiction" does it not?

Well, if you read the whole article, the idea is that is ADHD was thought to be the root of his other issues, and they went after that as being the driving force of his problems. To me at least it sounded like not the drug, but the condition itself.

Besides that I wouldn't even try to guess.

maybe he was just smoking pot

I'm just happy to have him back. He sounds motivated and hungry. Hopefully he's matured and this doesn't continue to be an issue.

I'm still close with my Mom and Dad, my best friend and I still talk once a week, my closest mentor is still a good friend - we have dinner a few times a year, and my brother is still alive.

I can't even comprehend what my life would look like if all those people died.

Dude's had a rough ride. I hope he figures it out. Demons in your head with money in the bank is a bad combo.

Nailed it.

My folks, best friends, best loves, mentor are all gone, but my best years are past. Looking back, I don't want to imagine who I'd have become without them when I needed them to keep me grounded as I was becoming the best I would be when I could. I still hear them when things are worst, from years of their wisdom, I know what they'd say in knowing me well. I was fortunate enough to have them for decades into being an adult.

I can't comprehend a life without them either.

Demons in your head with less income is a worse combo, and I hope Dareus makes it.

Side effect of Adderall is loss of appetite and weight loss.

Sounds like bullishlt.

So are diarrhea and constipation, so unless you're following him to the crapper you have no way of knowing what, if any, side effects he is feeling.

At the moment, I'm not buying his story. Let's see if he can keep on the field and out of trouble.

Adderall is not habit forming.

Adderall is not habit forming.

Actually it's highly addictive. Still not sure he was abusing it though it's not really beyond possibility. In theory you could want him to change the root of his disorder to wean him from the drug but that's all way off into conjecture.

It sure is. Plenty of folks got turned into vegetables back in the days of amphetamines being prescribed for weight loss. You could buy Vicks brand nasal decongestant inhalers (they looked like a Chap-Stik) that contained amphetamines as the active ingredient.

Baseball players used to call the pills "goofballs."

Bruce Smith mentoring lol!!! He's on his third DUI and still drinks.

The whole thing is a joke. I'll bet money he's out for a year next.

Apparently, Dareus hurt his hamstring today and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game.

McCoy listed as questionable for Sunday too, with a hand injury that I guess also happened today. Could be a ruse.

I stand corrected. I was thinking of Strattera. Adderall is fancy Ritalin and is a schedule II controlled substance in New York. My apologies to fatso.

Not even on the field yet and already injured. I can see he really wants to earn that $100 million dollar contract.

Pretty sure he'll play.

They just activated him.

Could be a conditioning thing as well. Isn't uncommon. Look at Bosa. After 4 weeks off, no matter how much he worked out, he's not in game shape anyway.
