Yes he has struggled this year but he is a good player. I say we cut a safety bring him in and see what he has Much younger than carp and bigger leg.

The guy has already missed 4 extra points and 4 field goals this year, and his team plays in a dome.

No. Carpenter is good. Remember when we all wanted Lindell gone?? Yeah. It's very hard to kick in Buffalo, and Walsh is not a better option than Carpenter.

My thinking was carry him and let them compete next year. He could do kickoffs for rest of this year. I like carp but he is not getting any younger. Hard to see kick power on tv. Does ball still jump off his foot when at games. That was my co cern kick power

Probably should have kept Dustin Hopkins...

I am for this idea. He was a great kicker before the playoffs last year. See if he can get right again

Brandon would just screw him up like he screwed up Carpenter by giving him tips.

"Brandon was seen making kicking motions, pointing at the goalposts and vigorously gesturing with his hands while speaking with kicker Dan Carpenter on the sidelines in Fredonia today."

I commented similar sentiment in another thread that said he was injured when we lost him and we needed a kicker. I can only imagine the threads about keeping an injured kicker on the active roster.

I don't want Walsh but Carpenter is good? You've got to be kidding me.

Who knows what's going on in this guy's head. He was absolutely money before that miss in the playoffs last year. His confidence seems death. It would be a risky move to get him. If being cut is a wake up call and he gets it back together, we'd be set at the position for years. But if he's still struggling you can guarantee a couple of losses given how many close games we play.

This is like a golfer with the yips. You don't know when/if the problem will go away. I doubt he's claimed. I'm a Ga fan so I'm rooting for Walsh, hope he pulls it together. But I hate the idea of multiple spots on the roster for kickers in the best of times and this wouldn't be.
