Heh, kinda funny... While at the bar watching the game last week, after Sammy made the catch for a big gain (60 yards-ish, IIRC) a buddy sitting next to me said "Better get him outta there now, before his feet start hurting again."

Officially didn't practice for Sammy.

I have to say without him in the lineup, the Bills can forget about any hope of playoff this year.

watch. He's often injured enough that we break ties with him and then he stays healthy and plays like a HOFer for someone else. Such is the bills curse

Nah, he'll go elsewhere and end up buried on the depth chart and produce little to nothing.

See Stevie Johnson and Lee Evans.

They changed the status afterwards.

If no further damage can be done to his foot, shoot up and go.

Yup.

He has a plate in his foot with screws. Obviously, it needs to be fixed. Hold that off until January.

Now back to *****ing and moaning. It's so cool.

Sammy should rest his foot as much as possible. Why push it on a Wednesday?

mid week isn't a huge deal to me. it's not like TT throws timing routes. he only throws to guys who are open. so if Watkins needs two days to ensure he gets separation on sunday, sit. if the bills ran a timing offense, then it would clearly be a bigger deal. also, the raiders run defense is at the back of the pack. so the bills may only need a pedestrian day out of the WR corp as the RB's do the lion share of the work.

Sammy needs to take off his skirt and put on a pair of pants. I'm so sick of his weak puss ass mentality.

Well, right after that it says :

Watkins was originally expected to be limited, but was held out after telling the training staff he had a sore foot. He did take part in stretching and individual position work, but those parts of practice are not counted for participation purposes. For more on that situation click here (http://www.wgr550.com/Watkins-misses-practice-with-sore-foot/22949100).

The "click here" says "Watkins held out of practice with sore foot".

Did they hurry him back ? With our incredible medical/training staff, no doubt. Does it really surprise anyone ? If he's gimped he's gimped, don't make it worse by playing him.

He has foreign objects in his foot. Sometimes those parts stabilize right away after surgery and there is no pain.

Sometimes it doesn't work out and the parts have to be re-inserted.

This isn't about being tough and playing through pain. If his foot is not healing properly or the screws are out of place he can't just play on it anyway.

Hopefully this is just some regular soreness and a regular maintenance day to keep him rested. If not he may need a second surgery.

I disagree, Lee Evans was a huge reason the Ravens lost the AFC championship game in 2012..

8 weeks of rest only to flare up again after playing only about 45% of the team's snaps.

Safe to say we can't expect him to be in the 90%+ of plays until maybe 2025

They are saying it is not the area of the surgery.

Just that his foot is sore overall from not using it at a top level.

Think about if you haven't lifted in awhile then you do a chest day all out. Aren't you super sore?

Same thing here.

Evidently came off of IR with a broken bone in his foot too.

Asked when the last he had heard was, Lynn said the information was as current as last week before Watkins was activated from injured reserve.

Tough as hell, dumb as bricks. I'd probably see it as gutsy & tough if he wasn't so clearly unable to perform consistently with it (ala Curt Schilling bleeding through his socks in the World Series). Another strike against the medical & training staff imho as well, the coaching staff, the FO.

So this seems very unclear.

Is Lynn talking about the broken bone in his foot that was surgically repaired and caused him to be out last 8 weeks?

OR

Is this a new break in his foot that is different from the original?

Seems to me all the reports from medical personal were that the foot was healed structurally but it was pain tolerance.

Now Lynn is talking about broken foot.

Can we get any kind of clarification on this?

Maybe Lynn and Rex are playing mind games with Oakland because they said completely different things about Sammy.

Rex said he looks great and did quite a bit in practice and is ready to roll Sunday. Then Lynn comes out with the "He's a soldier playing with a broken foot and don't know if he can play 1 play or 20."

Funny

Doubt it.

The miscommunication is nothing new. All season long Sammy, Rex and Lynn have all been saying different things. It would be funny if it wasn't pathetic. Sammy is always the optimist saying he's fine and what not posting all sorts of rah rah stuff on social media. Rex says stuff all over the place and then Lynn comes out and he's always the pessimist (realist maybe?) of the 3 saying the guy is still injured and missing time and whatnot.

Well, I sure don't know but count on the media finding out.

I would think the old broken bone should have healed by now with the plate on it. Usually the problem with such is that the plate causes the pain by its position. If he broke it again, or broke another one, not sure it matters. I see where you're coming from I think, but I would have thought Lynn would have just said the probably wiser "He still has pain from his previous surgery." instead of referring to the old break which shouldn't be broken anymore.

Who knows. It will come out. No matter, I still have more issues with training/medical/coaching staffs than I do with Watkins if his foot is still messed up, though it annoys me he might be harming himself and the team if he can't play to a certain level.

I can't either.

I do remember CIN having a playoff game a few years back having been wiped out late in the season, being left fielding Brandon Tate and rookie rb Rex Burkhard at WR and having one TE still standing - an ailing Jermaine Gresham.

Woods and Goodwin's contracts run out this year, too.

FWIW, if/when BUF is out of it, they should pluck WR Jake Kumerow off of CIN's PS as a prospect for next season:
