Uh...yes please.

He, along with Dick LeBeau, are testimonials to the fact that the coaching and play-calling matter most.

He won't come here. He left when this was a dysfunctional front office. It's 10x worse now.

Yes, but he isn't coming back.

I don't see why he'd want to.

Who would want to come to this dead end if not for Pagula's ability to overpay?

I think there's a better chance of Wade becoming a swimsuit model than there is of him returning to Buffalo.

Only he can end the curse.

I agree with others that I don't think he'd want to come back. Phillips is on the backside of his career, I'm not sure he'd even want a HC job and have to deal with all the extra crap that comes with scheming and play-calling which is what he loves to do.

The question was does he deserve another shot at head coach again . Not will he or should he come back to B-lo.
Personally...I don't see many quality candidates eagar to work with Whaley and Brandan.

Wade has also been a predominantly 34 defensive coach so if we are looking to transition back to a 43 he might not be an ideal fit.

This makes no sense. Who is the "we" in that statement and who said it?

I'd take Wade Phillips back in a heart beat.

Right. This is a HC/DC decision. We don't have either of those.

Only Bills coach to never have a losing season here

Billick.

Billick like Cowher are probably never returning to coaching. I think it will be either Lynn, Coughlin, Bevell, Cooter or Kyle Shanahan. Whomever presents the best case to fix the QB and defensive problem and honestly Shanahan to me is far and away the best candidate as think he hasn't best chance to bring in a name DC but Bevell could be a sleeper cause of his ties to Bradley.

Shanahan sucks outright. Furthermore, he has done exactly nothing to merit getting a chance.

You're trying to sell that Coughlin doesn't deserve a chance to be a GM, but thatShanahan should be the Bills coach makes you sound stupid twice over.

Why'd we get rid of him in the 1st place?

Why'd we get rid of him in the 1st place?

Because he's a lax coach like Rex Ryan. The inmates were running the asylum under his reign. Wilson got fed up seeing fat Pat Williams and Ted Washington taking off every other down. He's the polar opposite of Coughlin in his approach to coaching. He can be a great DC as he proved in Houston and Denver, but I don't want to see him as a head coach here.

IIRC, looking back, most fans supported the change at the time. The Kelly years were still fresh in everyone's mind. The Wade Phillips teams just didn't measure up to Buffalo Bills standards. They looked sloppy a lot of the time. But in retrospect none of us could have ever foreseen how bad it was going to get over the next twenty years.

Don't kid yourselves...if Wade did want to HC again and Pegs waved 5-7mil in front of him he'd come back. His beef was with Ralph, nobody that is currently with the team.
