    Bills called Emmitt

Emmitt Smith, who began his Arizona Cardinals career in Flagstaff, Ariz., this weekend with three camp practices.

MMQB: Now that you're here, tell me: Who else wanted you?

Smith: When I was looking, Buffalo called. Carolina had some interest, but they ended up getting Stephen Davis. What I really wanted to do was to go home to Florida. I wanted to go to Tampa Bay. But something happened in Tampa. The Bucs couldn't work it out. Arizona showed the most interest. The Cards didn't insult me and tell me they'd only pay me the minimum. Then I talked to Daryl Johnston for some advice, and he really liked the Arizona option.

I like Gary as a back up over Smith.

Ya, Emmit wanted to start. Not a chance here.
            Its all about the quest.

Personally I hate the idea of Emmitt playing for any other team other than the Cowboys. It's going to make me sick to see him in a Cardinals uniform.

I would have taken him as a backup.

This will be his last year.

Bruce is retiring as well after this season in Washington.

Always hate to see guys going downhill during the end of their careers. I wish people would just retire when it looks like they're not so good anymore.

Emmitt, Bruce, Michael Jordan (thank god he finally retired, again), Robert Parish...even Neil O'Donnell makes me sad.

Why hang on? They got the money already and are set for life? For the love of the game? C'mon!

Neil O'Donnell is going to make pretty good jack to hold a clip board. I'd do that until they finally kicked me off the team. Make more than $750,000 to stand on the sidelines in uniform. That's the teams fault not his. Most people would take the money too.

When all is said and done, the teams that passed on McGahee will be the only ones looking like fools. Mark my words. This is a pretty funny statement considering it took the Dolphins how long to find one decent running back, much less two or three. Idiots!
