Rex backs Pegula's version of firing process with one twist -

    Tyrod.

I remember Rex already said Tyrod to start on Monday. Presumably at the end of the conference call on Tuesday morning:
Doug: we need to sit Tyrod this game because he has an $27 million injury clause.
    Terry: I agree.
Rex: All right, may I have words with Terry alone?
    Doug: Ok
Rex: Will I still be the head coach for 2017?
    Terry: No.
    Rex: Then fire me now.
Terry: Done. And by the way, who would you recommend as the interim coach?
    Rex: Anthony Lynn.
    Terry: Thank you. Good Luck.

    Doug's phone rings -
    Doug: Hello Terry.
Terry: I fired the son-of-a-gun. Lynn is the interim coach.
    Doug: Hooray ....

According to this article, we now know what had Whaley changed heart to give Tyrod the extension despite he said many times Tyrod needs to prove himself:
Ryan had hand-picked Taylor to be his starting quarterback, and had promised the 2011 draft pick that as long as Ryan was coach in Buffalo, Taylor would be his QB

Taylor would have played if we had a better defense since we'd be contending for a playoff game.
No ones fault but Rex. His players gave up on him...... but they still love him.
