Report: Bills finalizing deal to make Panthers' McDermott next HC
The Buffalo Bills are finalizing a deal with Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott that will make him the team's next head coach, according to Vic Carucci of The Buffalo News.McDermott has served as Carolina's DC since 2011, after working in the same capacity with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2009-10.The 42-year-old drew rave reviews during the 2015 season, when the Panthers finished sixth in scoring defense, holding opponents to 19.3 points per game.McDermott's also played a key role in developing star linebacker Luke Kuechly and defensive tackle Kawann Short.Last winter, McDermott interviewed for the Cleveland Browns' and Tampa Bay Buccaneers' head coaching positions. He was also linked to the San Diego Chargers' job this winter.Previously, Bills' interim head coach Anthony Lynn was considered the favorite to land the permanent role.

Re: Carruci: Bills have zeroed in on McDermott as next Head Coach
McDermott was my top choice in terms of the candidates we interviewed so I'm thrilled. Also adding McCoy is potentially phenomenal.
As for DC it could be anybody. Ray Horton just became a Free Agent.Last edited by DraftBoy; 01-10-2017, 09:23 PM.COMING SOON...

I am a fan of the idea.http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/mcdermott-mccoy-pairing-could-be-coaching-carousels-hottest-prize/Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott is expected to be a top head coaching candidate in January, and he would be even more in demand with the offensive-minded Mike McCoy on his staff.
