Sean McDermott's likely DC in Buffalo is Panthers LB coach Al Holcomb, per source. Logical hire and promotion.

Maybe he can make Rob Ryan the linebackers coach :ill:

Would of preferred Wiltz, but no issue bringing in the guy whose been coaching Thomas Davis, Luke Kuechly, and Shaq Thompson.

Also was the first runner-up for PFF's LB Coach of the year "award" in 2015.

Welcome to superstardom, Reggie Ragland.

Doesn't matter who the DC is...it'll be McDermott's defense.

And Reggie Ragland, doesn't fit.

Welcome to superstardom, Reggie Ragland.

He's got a few things to do before superstardom. If you saw him at the coin toss of the Washington game, he's getting a nice little paunch on him.

For a guy with marginal speed, rehabbing a knee...and now a weight gain...he's got some work to do.

Let's hope he doesn't go full Karlos Williams on us.

McDermott schemes for the players available, reasoning that injuries might change the lineup anyway. Been reading a lot about him today. Fiery, intense, sleeps in his office, 3-5 hrs of sleep a night. Studies other DC's. You've got some catching up to do Mister !

Ragland is a 3-4 ILB.

McDermott is a 4-3 coach.

Square peg, round hole.

Raglands basically an old school thumper mlb. Read a lot, didn't save links, one article mentioned Alexander (if he stays), Ragland and Preston in the LB slots.

IIRC Dwan Edwards went from Buffalo to Carolina and prospered.

McDermott has a reputation as being able to scheme according to talent and is not rigidly dogmatic about scheme, so his ... ugh hole... is flexible.

Most importantly his defenses use 12 players. So that's a nice improvement.

LOL

12 is better than 10.

It really would be a logical promotion and hire.

I'm not a big fan of McDermott's new DC:

Rapoport is saying that it may not be Holcomb as DC. Now saying the name to consider is Leslie Frazier.

Argh. He's a freaking bendy Tampa-2 guy, may as well hire Perry Fewell.

McDermott is from that same school of thought. Jim Johnson for all the notes about his blitzing was always worried about the big play. He only got really aggressive when the opponent got inside of the 45-40 yard line.

Not to the extent of Leslie, a Lovie Smith Dungy disciple. He's known as being conservative and all about cover-2.

His Bucs D lasted 2 years.

Oh this is terrible.
