    Positional Needs

With a new coaching staff comes a new scheme and with a new scheme means the potential needs for new players.

Let's use this thread as a way for us to determine what the Bills team needs are on a position by position basis.

    Re: Positional Needs

Regardless of scheme, this team needs safeties because currently there is a dearth of talent at that position.
I think we're pretty solid on the defensive line.
Wrecks trashed the depth at cornerback, and we're probably losing Gilmour, so upgrades are needed there also.
I think Ragland may be OK at MLB, but really somebody like Foster may be a better fit.

      Re: Positional Needs

Well, the elephant in the room is Tampa-2 atm as far as I'm concerned with Frazier atm until they say otherwise, it needs fast swarming people which will influence type of player, and adds a need at LB, because I don't think Preston and Reggie will cut it. Zach Brown would but he's going to be expensive.

Universally, they need a CB if they want to let Gilmore walk, and I would.

They need 2 safeties. A. Williams might be willing but needs to be replaced before he goes down again. Graham doesn't look like he's going to last much longer.

They need DL. Dareus is iffy, Kyle is getting long in the tooth, not so sure about their depth and I'm not real impressed with Adolphus who looks like just another guy.

They need a QB, how much is debatable if Taylor is a bridge. They need OL, an RT, a swing guard, possible center.

      A WR.

A kicker. I'd stick with Schmidt another year to see if he returns to form at punter.

So imho, they need LB, DT, SS, FS, CB, OT, G/C, WR, QB, K. LB becomes less need if not Tampa-2, critical if Tampa-2.

      Safety & CB are critical.

      OL, DT, K, QB desirable.

I'd agree with all of that except dline should be down on the list of priorities.

It has to be, one way or another.

I dunno...We definitely should add somebody, but I'm OK with Lawson-Dareus-Washington-Hughes...KW coming in on passing downs...Worthy/Bryant/Douzable/Coleman depth.

I won't argue it's worse than other positional groups, it isn't, it has bodies, just no real upside. If Dareus slips up with his 10 unnannounced tests per month and Kyle gets an old guy injury, you're suddenly looking at uh oh though.
