Dennison coached him in Baltimore.
Allegedly Denver wanted him two seasons ago when Buffalo signed him.

Are the signs pointing to the team putting on a push to keep Taylor?

Do they need to put on a push? Just pay him his middle of the road salary, right?

Can't imagine, but at least it will come with input from someone with an educated opinion about him.

Mystery

Rappaport, who is 0-8 with his predictions thus far says it's good news for TT. So He'll be cut without question.

As an engineer, Dennison knows how things work after trial and error.

Taylor was given the NFL's best rushing attack 2 years straight, and failed to make the Bills a playoff team.

But their defense sucked. Still, I wouldn't pin the Bills lack of success on the defense.

Taylor was given the kind of running game every NFL quarterback wants, and he blew the opportunity.

The Bills had the best running attack in the NFL for the last 2 years because Tyrod Taylor is a better running back than he is a quarterback.

You're ****ting me right? Our defense was completely ruined by Rex. Tyrod didn't fail; look at how many points our offense put up and how many our defense gave up. ****ty defense allowed three (3) 200+++ yard rushers!!! Not too many QBs in the NFL are going to be successful with that severe handicap.

Tyrod didn't blow **** guy. If we had our pre-Rex defense, Taylor would already have a lucrative deal signed. If we let him walk, I guarantee he's in the playoffs next season with just an OK defense...that doesn't allow a literal **** ton of rushing yards.

That's a fair point, but perhaps I should have been clearer. A different staff may 'push' to let Tyrod walk...the hiring of Dennison may 'push' to trigger the rest of the contract.

I'm kind of leaning toward bringing him back atm even though I realize he has some major flaws and will probably never be 'the man', as long as the organization keeps searching via the draft and free agency to upgrade the position. I agree with jamze to a certain point, if Wrecks didn't completely **** up the defense and actually attempted to give even a half-assed effort toward coaching instead of sitting on his fat-ass contract that he wrangled out of Brandon and Pegula like he just hit the lottery this team probably could have made the playoffs the last two years.

Still don't have a clue and no idea if it is good or bad in a team progress/regression sense.

Taylor is not a good passer when he has to pass, but we could do worse. Is that good enough for this staff ? No clue. Can the staff make him better ? Doubt it, but no idea. Do I want to pay him that much ? No, renegotiate and heap performance incentives on him. Do I want to cut him loose and count on Cardale and Hoyer (for example) ? No.

Got to put some confidence or assign some responsibility to someone. McDermott and Dennison, welcome to Buffalo, good luck with it, you're henceforth and forthwith accountable.

If you look around the league we could do way worse than Tyrod.

Not sure why we are desperate to get rid of him. Bills have talent so why flush it down the toilet. Anyone thinking Cardelle is the answer has lost their mind.

With our current offense and 2014 defense this team is not only in the playoffs but potentially going deep

We have to restructure his contract and keep him until there's a better option in the draft or free agency because there isn't right now. I know people will disagree and cite some retread free agent or some sure fire college prospect but I disagree. Is Tyrod elite? No. He's never going to be Rodgers or Manning but he is a middle-of-the-road guy you can win with.
