This guy is a free agent we need to try to keep. His paltry numbers are an indictment of Taylor. Woods is a possession receiver (a good one) who butters his bread in the slot and over the middle, two places Taylor ignores. He had like 70 catches with Orton at QB, which is about as good as you could expect for a #2 with an average QB. He is never going to be a Randy Moss type, but he could be a very reliable "it's 3rd and 5, he can get 8," Wayne Chrebet-type receiver with a more dynamic passer.

Re: Letting Robert Woods walk would be a mistake
He wants to walk. We need to move on. He doesnt want to be here.I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

I don't think he'll be in the price range to keep him. It would be a wise choice to try and keep him, don't disagree. But I don't think the Bills can afford to give him at least 8m a season to do it.
And that's if he even wants to take a discount to stay here, I think someone will pay him 9.5 on the open market. You gotta realize he's the 3rd or 4th best WR in this FA class behind Alshon Jeffrey, Vincent Jackson and maybe Terrelle Pryor.

We should keep him but use him. Instead of resigning Goodwin, Easley, who else is perennially injured. Whaley is really a bad GM. Hopefully the new coaching staff will take over and he won't know it.Lou Saban: You can get it done, you can get it done. And what’s more, you’ve gotta get it done.

But I can't blame him if he wants to leave. He one of the most mis-used draft picks ever.
McDermott will be his 3rd head coach in his short career.

If you intend to invest this much in pass catchers, then we have to restructure our offense to put the ball in their air more. Nobody is going to justify their salary on less than 30 pass attempts a game.

He's going to get 9M+ a year, it's just not going to be doable whther he wants to be here or not.
Unless they bring in Romo, it's not going to make sense to pay that much for a guy who is going to be the 3rd/4th option on offense
