That is surprisingly good.

I never would have thought that the Bills had the 6th best pass defense last year, but they did.

Gilmore could get the franchise tag if he doesn't sign a new contract. I'd let Seymour take his place and roll the dice instead.

The Bills run defense was surprisingly bad in 2016, ranking 29th in the league.

Why was the run defense so bad? Players, or coaching?

100% coaching.

Rex and Rob had the players, but didn't know how to use them to stop the run.

If Sean McDermott can fix the Bills run D, the Bills should be a top ten overall defense in 2017.

That's encouraging enough for me to think that the Bills need not spend a 1st round draft pick on a cornerback or safety.

The Packers, Falcons, Raiders, and Cowboys all ranked at the bottom in pass defense this year, but they all made the playoffs.

What ailed the Bills the most in 2016 was their 30th ranked passing offense.

Everyone here knows that the Bills had the #1 rushing offense.

Why? Because they couldn't pass the ball!

If Sean McDermott can fix the Bills run defense and make the Bills passing offense respectable, 2017 will be a very interesting year for Bills fans.

That being said, I'm changing my 1st round (10th overall) 2017 Buffalo Bills draft pick to Wide Receiver.

Corey Davis or Mike Williams at 10.

Whoever the Bills QB is in '17, they will need all the help they can get at WR.

Watkins, Davis/Williams, and put Goodwin in the slot.

We've been over this before. If the opponent can run the ball for 200 yards on your defense, there is no need to pass it.

Not real sure Williams will be a good run stuffer though.

Yep - press release fodder for the next season's rah-rah by the team's PR flacks. BUF isn't the only outfit doing that, though.

We lost because we couldn't stop the run. Stop blaming Tyrod for everything.

The Bills passing metrics weren't bad, with one exception. They allowed 35.8% of 3rd downs to be converted by pass, 22nd in the NFL. That shows, despite the fact they were pretty good against the pass, when they had to make a play to get off the field there were in the bottom half of the NFL. That is telling.

Which proves our passing defense sucked. They just ran when they wanted to. And when other teams found that they were 3rd and long and needed to convert, we couldnt stop it at all. Tyrod wasnt great this season, but the offense wasnt the reason we missed the playoffs.
