It's a waste to me too, but I didn't make 5 million this year. If I did, I'd buy a ticket for the kid, and a nanny too so mom can have a good time here and there as well. Would probably buy a ticket for a nanny for the nanny too, because wth, I made 5 million and I'm in a Super Bowl.

I'm assuming they could have put the baby on mom's lap but decided to get the extra seat/room.

Why wouldn't you want your wife and first child to be in attendance if you're playing in the superbowl?

I don't see why or how it's waste. This is a special moment and he wants his child there.

Also bet money that Blank reads the story and reimburses him for the ticket.
