All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Rumblings' list of new coaching staff/fa connections
I've got Klein, Love, Norwood on FA acquisition list in the roster thread.
McDougald the safety caught my eye, probably looking at 5-7 million if Tampa lets go of him which I doubt, but better bang for the buck than A. Williams or Graham, and maybe lets them ease in a rookie safety better, renegotiate Graham for another year maybe and offset his lower salary with signing bonus.
The safety position for the Buffalo Bills is still in a state of flux. The team is awaiting confirmation from Aaron Williams if he’s going to be returning for the 2017 season following a string of …

Don't know, he's 34, thinking about retiring and has no T-2 experience. Not sure it wouldn't just make more sense extending Graham and converting money to bonus to lower his cap.

He started for the Panthers in 2014 and 2015. Granted he only started 4 games last year with the Saints but think he could be a veteran depth guy that at the very least could add that depth to a position that sorely needs it. Now I'd still advocate taking a guy like Hooker or Adams at pick 10 if they're still on the board and a guy like Mike Williams isn't.
Re: Rumblings' list of new coaching staff/fa connections
Yeah, I dunno. Tampa-2 :
The two safeties are responsible for covering their respective halves of the field from 20 yards out and more. The safeties in the system are expected to be above-average cover men with the ability to break up passes, but each safety also is expected to have additional specific skills. The strong safeties, while not expected to be great tacklers, are expected to be hard hitters. The hard hitting strong safety protects the middle of the field from being exploited by small, fast receivers, and running backs on wheel route. The free safety will be called upon to do one of two things in certain situations: either blitz the quarterback, requiring him to have the skills necessary to beat a blocking halfback or fullback, or to assume the coverage zone left by a blitzing cornerback.
I don't think Harper is even adequate depth for this at this point in his career. They might not want to spend the money on McDougald, and I agree they need a prime pick safety, but like I said, they may as well extend and cheapen Graham by cap standards.
