A small relief. Let him walk and make Seymour grow predator dreads. The young man needs to realize he's a pro CB now and he has to step up his hairstyle acumen.

Good. Let someone else overpay him!

I agree on all points. Obviously.

He seems to be a goner.

In your heart of hearts, I know you dream of having your own luxurious predator dreads the like of which have never been seen.

This is good news (hopefully)...No need to tie up all that money on another Whitner.

Byrd 2.0

Byrd was actually good for us. Gilmore is a headache, when he's playing and when he's not. See ya.

We will miss him. I think he is underrated by us fans. Then again, I agree to not pay him top 5 money.

Do the Saints need a corner?

I don't think that Gilmore is a superstar by any means, but for once I'd like to see this team keep a DB that they spend a high-round pick on past his first contract. They're spinning wheels there. Guess what just became another big hole. Again.

I agree with the Bills.

He is not elite.

Let him walk.

Now that I think about it, they would probably be better off in the long run cutting Taylor and spending that money on Gilmore.

If he's not a superstar by any means why should we pay him like he is? Because that's what it would take to keep him. Your post is confusing.

Get rid of both.

Yeah, it is. Occasionally you're gonna have to overpay some guys to avoid creating a glaring hole, and you might as well pay someone who's decent as opposed to below-average.

I guess. I just look at NE and they just refuse to do it, like ever. They're sitting on 65m in cap space so they can easily afford to franchise or sign Donte Hightower. They also know if he walks it leaves them with a gaping hole at MLB. But they just won't do it. And Hightower just won them the SB. Our problem isn't letting guys walk it's having 6 draft picks to fill 15 holes and a guy picking that thinks trading up for a WR made of glass is a good idea. But maybe you're right idk. Maybe we might as well overpay because we can't attract anyone here anyway, have to spend the money somewhere, give it to the guy with the braids who's top 30 that thinks he's top 5. Sorry rambling, just depresses me.

It would be nice to keep Gilmore, but I'm ok with letting him walk. I just don't think he's worth the huge cost. I mean is there really a $12+ million difference between Gilmore and Kevon Seymour? Not to mention that this might be the deepest CB draft ever. Doesn't make a lot of sense to make Gilmore one of the highest paid non-qbs in the league when they could get a capable starter to replace him even outside of the first round.

The insane franchise tag numbers by position ruin any hope of keeping many good players. Note I said good and not HOF difference makers.

You can't pay them those numbers when many key positions, especially QB, are unsettled.

I think this is smart, he can be really good when he wants to be but he does not always want to be so definitely not worth big dollars to me. Once he gets the big guaranteed dollars we will see his true passion.
