After watching Texans management outfit his unit a year earlier, defensive coordinator Vic Fangio spent this past offseason doing a lot of window-shopping.
While the Texans took out the company credit card to upgrade the NFL's worst offense, only one key addition -- starting outside linebacker Charlie Clemons -- was made to a veteran-dominated defense that finished as the second-best expansion unit in NFL history.
"Everyone's goal is to be the No. 1 defense in the NFL, and we're no different," defensive end Gary Walker said. "We didn't take the expansion label last year, and we're not going to take it this year. We're ready to play football. ...
