Do the Sabres consider buying out Zach Bogosian?

Let's face it... this guy is a total stiff. I literally can't stand watching him skate. I'm not sure what's wrong with him... substance abuse? Injuries?

Whatever it is... he's clearly not the hockey player he should be.

Im doing some research, it appears if we bought him out... we'd have a cap savings for the next 4 years as follows:

$3.1 million
$3.6 million
$4.1 million
$4.1 million

The challenge becomes in the subsequent 4 years after that... it will cost us $1.8 million of dead cap space each year.

I think there's ZERO chance of Vegas selecting him in the expansion draft, so are we just going to hold court and sit on this stiff for four more years?

You know my thoughts.

I want this stiff gone. I would offer an asset to Vegas to take him in the draft. They will need salary on their end to hit the cap floor. And I would definitely protect Falk before him.

And then buy out Gorges.

Both of them skate as well as my grandmother.

She's dead.

I follow the Sabres a lot less than prior to them going into tank mode, and never nearly as much as football. I rely on your's and Jatm's erudite observations to keep me up to speed in the hockey forum.

The NHL apparently anticipates the cap to remain flat next season, with little if any increase projected over this year’s $73 million ceiling. That would mean an increase of a paltry 3.998 percent of the players’ pot since 2012-13, the year before the 50/50 formula went into effect.

Ironically, she's the best defenseman we have.
