Haven't seen any mention of it here.

Evidently Steve Christie reached out to the Bills to try and help Carpenter :

There was some speculation it was Carpenter who didn't want Christie's help.

Mean time, Christie talked to Carpenter, who was never told.

He should have reached out to Carpenter on his own instead of trying to go through team channels.
