Sean McDermott gets Bills back to business, removes locker room games

Changing the culture around the Buffalo Bills has been a central message since Sean McDermott took over as coach in January, and recent changes in the team's locker room suggest an all-business atmosphere will be a priority.

At McDermott's direction, the Bills have removed a pool table and video games from their locker room. Both had been installed, along with a table tennis table, during a 2014 locker-room renovation and expansion while Doug Marrone was coach. The games remained when Rex Ryan replaced Marrone in 2015.

The pool table and video games are gone from all-business Buffalo, leaving the Bills players to focus on football rather than playing around.

Can't say it hurts my feelings any. They can sit there and play games at their cubicle on their smartphones like the rest of us.

Re: Sean McDermott gets Bills back to business, removes locker room games

The lone survivor among the Bills' leisure activities is the popular ping-pong table. Asked why he left that – other than the mutiny that he would have had on his hands if it were removed – McDermott said simply, "ball skills."

Re: Sean McDermott gets Bills back to business, removes locker room games

                      I like Sean McDermott.

Pool tables and video games do not help athletes improve hand/eye skill coordination.

                      Ping pong does.

                      He's smart.

Going to camp in 2001, I literally prayed someone would grab that from Greggo and beat him to death with it.

These kids spend too much time indoors playing video games. They need to go outside, get some fresh air, and throw the ball around.
