Cyprien looks to be signing with TEN... potentially good news, since they've been mocked to draft Jamal Adams or Malik Hooker.

Bears have also shown interest in TE Jared Cook, joining the Lions and Bills in that hunt. (Dowell Loggains coached Cook in Ten.) - via Mike Garafolo's twitter

I think both could be starters honestly. But that's not saying much considering I don't know if the Bills have any other safeties on the roster

Don't know too much about either. Can y'all please fill me in?

Micah Hyde will never be elite, but he does everything well and is extremely versatile. Poyer is a youngster who is still developing, but played well enough to earn a starting job in Cleveland. He lost his chance to start because of a cheap shot. That made him expendable.

Bills were linked as looking into TE's Jared Cook & Martellus Bennett, which kind of surprised me.

Interesting thing McDermott mentioned in his press conference, via Rodak, ESPN :

Sean McDermott: "When you look at list of players we've signed, the overlap there are the intangibles."

Bills rumored to be in on Morris Claiborne who I have wanted them to get for months. I hope it comes to fruition.

Hearing Jared Cook and Martellus Bennett interest.

Don't sleep on Cordarelle Patterson.

But the lack of WR action is telling about what we may be thinking at 10 in the draft

This would make a lot of sense. Then allow us to focus on a RT, TE, WR, and LB.

I wonder if they have the cash and cap room to buy einto the FA market.

Some rumors I just read:

- Bills and Lorenzo Alexander have been talking and working on a deal. Could be close to returning and contract could be finalized as early as today.

- Bills are interested in signing Bucs WR Russel Sheppard, but it looks likely that he'll end up signing with the Panthers.

- Bills are interested in TE Jared Cook as has been mentioned before, but apparently talks between Cook and the Packers have broken down, so maybe the chances of him joining the Bills just went up.

TE Martellus Bennett has signed with the Packers.

OK, we have a cap space issue, and we're looking at TE? What's up with Clay? How much cap room will we have tied up in TE? Did I miss something?

I wouldn't worry about it too much atm (usually I'm all upset by now about cap space), they can convert to bonus for Dareus and Glenn and spread out money for 14-15 million as needed. Makes no diff to the players.

No idea about Clay though unless they want 2 weapon TE's.

I'm starting to wonder if they can release Clay and get some cap relief because to tie up that much at TE which we rarely use makes no sense with all the other needs we have.

It will be a new formation unleashed by BUF...2 TE's, 2 FB's, 1 RB.

Felton is available yet. 3 fb's ! I'm fine with keeping McCoy instead of Felton if he can butch up for 30 more lbs and bulldoze for those tough yards.

**** it let's be the first team to start 11 fullbacks on offense!

That's clearly the path we're headed down this year!

No. He's a 13.5 million dead cap hit. On the books for 9 million and we actually lose 4.5 by cutting him.

Tackle Andre Smith, who spent 2016 with the Vikings, is set to visit the Bills, source says. Also watch for potential reunion with Bengals.

I read somewhere that our new OC likes to use a lot of 2 TE sets, so the interest in adding TEs makes more sense.

Read from quite a bit of Vikings fans saying he was pretty bad. Might be a slight upgrade over mills but is it worth the $$$ if he signs for starting money?

He served primarily as Carolina’s third or fourth receiver the past three seasons logging 79 receptions for just over 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns in his career.

Brown (5-11, 190) also has a bit of return experience.

It will be a new formation unleashed by BUF...2 TE's, 2 FB's, 1 RB.

As crazy and sarcastic as we're being here.... this idea could work.

*ASSUMING YOU DONT HAVE A TOP FLIGHT QB*
Defenses are gearing up to stop the Pats, Falcons, Steelers Packers, etc so the way a visionary team could take advantage of that would be to build an offense that exploits a defense filled with LB/S hybrids, CB's, speed rushers, etc

The best way to double down on that would be a mobile QB and running a triple option running attack that opposing defenses will only see one time that year. I'd have loved to watch Terrelle Pryor run such a scheme in the NFL. Tebow came close to it the year Denver went to the playoffs and beat Pitt (but even that O was half hearted).

As another poster said the cap hit is to much, plus imo we have a new HC, so TE use age can change.
