The Texans have traded Brock Osweiler and their 2018 2nd Rounder, 2017 6th Rounder for a 2017 4th Round pick with the Cleveland Browns.

Houston belongs to Romo now.

Nice for Romo...gets to stay in a state with no personal income tax.

Really rare to see NFL trades that are salary dumps.

I really like that the Browns stood their ground and got that 6th rounder in the deal. Otherwise this would have been one of the most lopsided trades in ages.

They have nearly 100M in cap space. They picked up another second rounder. They can straight up cut Osweiler and it has no impact on them.

They basically had way more cap than they could spend (over 100 million) so they bought a draft pick.

Romo isn't even a hall of famer. So why does the media treat this like Montana and Peyton part 3? We have seen McNabb become a free agent, McNair become a free agent, but no one got this much publicity

And okay I got it now. Wow actually a very smart move by cleveland

Smart move for Cleveland, especially if they can turn Brock over quickly to somebody else for more picks.

Including three 1st's and five 2nd's !! Wow.

2017: 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6
2018: 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 4, 4, 5, 6, 6, 7

Last year, they had 14: 1,2,3,3,3,4,4,4,4,5,5,5,5,7.

I wonder if they will solve their QB woes.

At least Jimbo got to the big game 4 years in a row.

Romo?

Not even close.

Kelly's streak came at a time when the rules were much different, and at a time when the CBA didn't result in the licking of the player's fannies at every turn.

We can clearly argue about Romo having anything left in his gas tank, and his injuries, but fact is he is a pretty decent NFL QB for the way the game is executed today. The Bills - many teams - would have been improved by his skills.

Romo will be going against Brees, Brady, Eli, Peyton, and Roethlisberger. After that there will be a drop off until the Cams and Wilsons. So I guess he may get a shot, but he wouldn't of deserved it. 2 playoff wins in his career while playing for a team that everyone wants to play for. To be honest, he only stopped being looked at as a mega choke artist when he started getting injured. 4 years ago he was constantly a laughing stock, then he's been injured for 3 years and is now a HOFer? What the hell happened?

Adding...

Read the previous discussions about Terrell Davis and so on.

Romo has played a long time - sometimes surrounded by good players, sometimes surrounded by crap players. I submit that if he was on the Bills' club in seasons past, they might not smell from the stink of 17 years of not getting into the playoffs.

Romo is no bum.Today, clubs are kicking the tires on him. Posts on this site claim he's going to be acquired by HOU.

It's not about just stats.its about accomplishments. Especially for a QB. I have never seen him as a top 5 QB. Has anyone ever been in the hof that never one any award or brought his team passed round one of the playoffs?

I'm more curious about how it is possible that a franchise hasn't been able to ring the bel lon a qb for 17 years, and ran through 9 HC's along the way, than I would be debating the merits of a Romo.

A few of these years Romo cost them the playoffs with poor play

I'm sorry but that Monday night game vs buffalo, was arguably the prime of his career, with the best team he ever had, and he didn't look even close to a HOF QB at any point during the game. Eli and him are tricky because one had horrible seasons but came up clutch and has won a bunch of playoff games including two superbowls. The other is the exact opposite.

Who do you think is more deserving because neither are a shoe in

Let's assume Cleveland cuts Brock...his value is in the toilet but he's still young with some upside.

Do you take a shot on him as a backup option to Taylor and then draft a youngster or two?

You know you're going to get him for pennies on the dollar at this point.

Depends on the money...I don't think Brock is going to come as cheap as you do.

We don't have to participate in the QB market just yet...draft one, sign an UDFA, and see who shakes out of the cuts closer to the season.

Maybe, I just don't see how a guy who gets traded as a salary dump can retain any kind of value.

I'd be awfully worried if we go into the season or camp with Taylor and two rookies as our entire QB set.

The problem is Osweiler is the polar opposite of Taylor. While I'm not the biggest Taylor fan, I'd still rather have someone backing him up who fits the offense they are going to run (for a mobile QB you'd assume).

True, but he has experience in the Dennison system.

He's only worthless when tied to that contract.

I'm not particularly a fan of Osweiler, but the fact that he is experienced in Dennison's offensive system, and had some success in it, could be pretty significant to the Bills, depending on his price tag.

He is not a hall of famer, period. The topic is being discussed by NFL experts and is laughed at, he is not going to sneak in like I said, he more than likely won't make even a ballot

And tiger. Brock Oswieler is Trent Edward post concussion. Don't even scare me with that. We can not do any worse than Cutler, EJ, and Brock, so don't even start

Brock has way worse of a time finding open WRs, and is extremely extremely timid when throwing into coverage.

The way people perceive Tyrod is 10X worse with brock

Nope. But Mariota never seemed any different than Bridgewater, and I consider Bridgewater a 20-25 QB. Mariota is probably 18-23 in QBs. He's ultra conservative and doesn't have good arm strength
