    Quiet Streets makes coaching teens a priority

    Tai Streets landed the big prize in the offseason. It wasn't the fat long-term contract that his 2002 performance seemed to dictate. The rules of NFL free agency blocked that. It was a national basketball championship for teenagers.

    The receiver coached a group of 16-and-under boys to the AAU title in Bloomington, Ind., three weeks ago. When he talked about them after practice Monday, Streets came as close to bragging as he has in four seasons with the 49ers.

    The boasting went something like this: I asked how his team had done. He answered the question. I asked for details. He politely provided a Web address for the AAU. He smiled a lot, thinking about the kids, but he didn't utter a colorful sentence until he had a chance to mock himself.
