He likes the short zone coverage and has shown many looks with only 1-2 LB's on the field.

We just picked up a couple Safeties but Hyde can play anywhere. I see little out there in OLB FA and the draft isn't loaded at that position. Might be thin after Reddick and Foster. Alexander can rush the passer but drop in the short zone. May be more valuable than we think. Zach Brown is seen as an ILB and may have trouble hooking on somewhere. We already have Ragland and Preston Brown inside with contracts. We'll see.

I do see SS T.J. McDonald of the Rams is out there. Had a DUI in Jan. and no one is giving him the big $ yet. An in the box SS who can tackle and cover in a short medium zone. Brady McDougald of Tampa is another with this makeup.

Do the Bills have more interest in adding more hybrid Safeties that can run and hit over searching for 2 OLB's in a small talent pool with less range ?

I think it's something to watch.

He has said he runs 2 LBers about 70% of the time, I believe.

They noted that Carolina was in a 4-2-5 nickel package an NFL-high 73.6-percent of their defensive snaps

I believe both of the Panthers OLBs were safeties that were converted to LB. Even in a 4-2-5 nickel package, ideally I don't think they would want Ragland and Preston Brown to be the 2 LBs. They still need a WLB with a lot of speed and coverage ability.

Ugh. I hate that defense. Unfortunately it's what the NFL is turning in to. Teams lining up 4 and 5 WRs this is probably the natural evolution of defense.

If the Bills draft Malik Hooker or Jamal Adams at #10, McDermott's defense is complete.

jabril Peppers? One man hybrid.

I like Peppers too. He could fall to the 2nd round.

Any one of the 3 makes the Bills defense better.

Peppers, Adams, or Hooker?

Peppers is an athletic freak that can play all over the field, even on offense.

Hooker is rated as the #1 safety in the entire draft, has been compared to Ed Reed, but he has some injury issues.

Adams was born to play safety.

If the Bills land any 1 of the 3, the Bills defense is going to be excellent.

4 - Dareus and Williams at DT, Shaq and Hughes at DE. Rotate Washington with Williams to keep Meatball fresh.

2 - Ragland, Brown/Alexander depending on the situation. I hope the Bills resign Spikes, he's great against the run.

5 - Darby, Hyde, Poyer, Seymour, Adams/Hooker/Peppers.
