The move was more inevitable than surprising. In fact, had Crichton not been hurt and placed on Injured Reserve at the beginning of last season, his prospects for making the 53-man roster didn’t look great at Training Camp.

Crichton played in 21 games during his first two NFL seasons, but most of that action was on a very limited basis of only a handful of snaps per game. He hasn’t recorded a sack in his NFL career.

He'll probably forget he read it in about 5 minutes and start one of his own just like it.

Former 3rd round pick (2014) from Oregon St. 6-3 273 4-3 DE.

Still has a highlight film from college. I've seen worse gambles.

Kid was a pretty good pass rusher in the Big 12, just never put it together in the NFL.

I presume he's on his rookie deal, so he's about as cheap as you're going to get. Very low risk move, and who knows what you'll get.

Sometimes guys just need a change of scenery or a wake-up call. These are the kind of low risk moves I like to see at this point. He's still young and talented with the potential to be a pleasant surprise. I wouldn't set any kind of expectations, but maybe he can have a similar turnaround/impact as someone like Jerel Worthy.

Keep an eye on him...might be this year's Z.Brown, LorAx or Jerry Hughes. Then again, he could be IK also.

Good pickup...he might be extra motivated to make the team and play in 2017 since you need to play three full seasons in the NFL to collect a pension.

He has a real shot at making the team if they are going to keep Alexander at OLB. It's pretty thin at DE after Lawson and Hughes.

Hopefully he'll be worthy of that comparison.

I still think LorAx is a better fit rotating with Hughes and Lawson than at OLB. I'd prefer to roll with Brown, Ragland and a rookie at LBer.

Hell, he couldn't even live up to IK. How disappointing.
