Mike Gillislee signs offer sheet w/Patriots
What are your guy's thoughts on this? I know we get a comp pick but I would rather keep him and match the offer.

We picked him up off waivers during season 2 years ago right?
Seems like RBs are a dime a dozen.
Reason I would do it is because you know he will tear it up next year and everyone will be like "Oh look how dumb the Bills are and how smart the Pats are"...

Its hard to evaluate RBs in this offense. Karlos Williams was a beast too. With the addition of Tolbert we're going to pass.I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

We're running a zone blocking scheme and Gillislee is the perfect fit.
Not matching the offer would be a mind blow, especially considering he goes to the Pats.Comment

Does anyone believe the Bills WILL match? I don't. They have never really valued him and if Whaley has his druthers then Jonathan Williams is the next man up. At least it wont be like Hogan where we got nothing. Hopefully Williams is better than Greg Salas was.Comment

Here's the Bills being short-sighted again.
The delta between original round tender and 2nd-round tender was $1M. We went cheap and went original ($1.7M). Now we have to either pay $4M this year or let the Patriots grab him.
I'll bet my zonebucks the Bills will let him walk. Whaley thinks he's a better drafter than he is and covets the draft pick.

However I can see it now, we don't creating another hole.
We then Go "BPA" and draft D. Cook or C. McCafrey with our num 10 pick.Comment

I hope they match it. The chances of McCoy staying healthy for all 16 games is unlikely. Even if he does, they're not going to give him 30+ carries a game. This draft looks loaded with RBs and we'd gain a pick, but Gillislee is a sure thing. Just match and be done with it. I really don't want to see Gillislee running wild on the Bills next season. If he's good enough for the Pats then he should be good enough for us.Comment
