Pegula and Brandon have turned two sports franchises into dumpster fires.

Wow. Just got the text. Surprising in the sense you have to wonder what they have in store for replacements. They must have been talking to replacement candidates right?

Really Bylsma I understand. But there must be more to the story with Murray. He had put some pieces in place. Everybody seemed pretty much ok with giving Murray another season to see if he could acquire the talent to take the next step.

I always thought Bylsma was an anagram for "abysmal"

I expected no less than this, the team looked terrible this season. Anyone thinking we had even a modicum of direction needs to get their head checked.

Now let's steal a good GM with history and overpay their entire group, pull a Chicago Cubs type move to get us the best and brightest.

Can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not, however it again makes you think they have people lined up to fill their shoes already. We'd better not hear BS like, .."when we start looking at candidates..."

So the tank worked out well for GMTM, didn't it?

Sabres President Russ Brandon needs time for a few photo ops, looking concerned, and then optimistic, first.

He's been confused for years so there has to be some other emotions mixed in there.

It seems like it's been so long since I've actually enjoyed a Sabres season from start to finish. Maybe 2006-07, in fact.

And in other news Lindy & Darcy are laughing their asses off somewhere warm.

I wasn't shocked that disco Dan was fired. Even though the Eichel ultimatum probably was never made, it wasn't a secret players didn't jive with him. Solid move on the sabres part. He misused decent players and some players regressed. I'm totally happy for girgs now. He has a chance.

Murray I am shocked at. I figured he had at least another year to see if he could right what went wrong though. I've been a big supporter of having patience for him, so I'm a little shocked. That said, I do recall him sitting on his hands at the deadline a little suspect. He said the deals weren't there. Well, then you lower your price and get SOMETHING for those pending UFAs. That was kind of a WTF moment for me.

Whatever, it happened, and I'm anxious to see what happens now. Though I doubt we get antipin now.

Antipin isn't Lidstrom, so don't let that bother you too much.

Let's put this question into play: How about Buffalo brings in a President of Hockey Operations to start with? THAT person would hire the GM. And then the GM hires the head coach.

The sabres d is so ragged right now, it would be a help

To kind of expand on my prior post: Take a page out of the Maple Leafs' playbook. They brought in Brendan Shanahan as their president, and went from there.

If-say-Ruff or Dudley came on board as the new president(you can even add the words "Of Hockey Operations" to that title),I'd be OK with that.

I actually had the same thought with ruff. He's beloved in buffalo. But not sure he should coach in buffalo

Stop with the madness, what did he do last time except waste the talents of best goalie ever ?

Seriously? Ruff had Hasek 4 seasons. Went to the second round three times. Conference finals twice, and the cup finals once. Ruff didn't waste anything, he got Max mileage out of a weak ass team except the 01 team

Looks like Bylsma and Murray aren't the ONLY firings the Sabres are doing. Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet/HNIC adds that Buffalo has also turfed the Directors of Amateur Scouting(Greg Royce)and Pro Scouting(Rob Murphy).

That doesn't mean he wasn't able to do anything with what he had, which was your claim. You're a dime a dozen loud mouthed know nothing fan who thinks that by making high expectations, it makes you a knowledgeable fan. Except you aren't.

This is pure conjecture. Brisebois, Guerin and Dudley are encouraging names to hear. Lombardi IDK. Anyone working under Stan Bowman would be great, but cannot get excited over that at this point.

Yeah, we should look at someone like Pat Lafontaine.
