Official BillsZone Training Camp Report 7/30/2003

Today was a slow day of practice. Marcus Jones was held out so he could rest his knee and Ryan Denny started in his place. The Bills practiced with shoulder pads and shorts with some hard hitting and tackling. They worked on the 7 on 7, 11 on 11, redzone offense and also the kickoff/punt coverage.

    1. Drew Bledsoe looks good. He is right on target with most of his passes. Bledsoe is finding targets all over the field, but his main target is still Eric Moulds. He had a few nice passes to Josh Reed, also a couple to Dave Moore and Mark Campbell. In the 11 on 11 drill, Bledsoe found Campbell for a nice 8 yard pass in the middle. Campbell leaped in the air and caught it perfectly. For the redzone offense, Bledsoe threw a 5 yard pass to Dave Moore and he ran it in the rest of the way for a 15 yard TD! On the next play, Dave Moore caught another pass for 7 yards and was stopped before he could go any further. Bobby Shaw also caught an 8 yard touchdown. CLICK HERE FOR MORE:

Nice article!! It's really nice to get in-depth summaries of camp happenings. I've been to a couple of practices including the first night practice and got achance to see first hand what is going on, and I godda tell ya, there's a "special" feeling in the air. Everything seems to a fluid touch to it.

I talked to as many players as I could, and I'de like to share my takes on some players.

Jeff Posey- One word, SLEEPER. this guy is huge, and he's got
allot of character. He could become a fan fave. He
was one of the last guys to leave and seems to
truly believe in this team. I think this guy's gonna
                be a stud.

Josh Reed- This guy is the real deal, all-around talent. Shoud
be a fixture on the Bills 'O' for years to come. Fits
the Bills WR mold to a 'T'. Stud for sure.

Takeo Spikes-Animal, Monster, Warrior, etc. or whatever fear
inspiring name you want to call this guy, that's
exactly what he is. Nice guy too, go figure. Stud.

Travis Brown-Saw some nice throws, but after talking to him,
he doesn't give the impression that he is a leader
or really wants to be one for that matter. I'll give
a while before I label him.

Brandon Spoon-What a guy to have in reserve. Could probably
start on quite a few teams, but nevertheless, true
team player who would sacrifice his body every
down to help the team. Future Stud.

Greg Williams-This guy really does have a great attitude, and
also stuck around late to sign. I really hope this
year goes well for him b/c I would like to see him
                stick around for a while.

I like the terms Homicidal Maniac, or Ninja for Takeo Spikes myself.
