I would put that game 4th on Bills games I have ever seen.

1. Comeback
2. Jim Kelly dive against the fins in 88 (I think it was 88)
3. 51-3 win over raiders in AFC Championship
4. TODAY'S GAME
5. Puntless game vs. 49ers

Where do you rank today's win?

Every championship game win is tied for 1 through 4 for me...you include some of the others mentioned in this thread, and I'd say it was around 10 or 11 for me.

Definitely the best Bills game I've ever seen....considering the only other ones I've seen were the opener and the 4 preseason games. :D

Northern, that really sucks. :sadwalk:

Bills Vs Oilers comeback was the greatest I ever seen

Bills Vs Oilers back in 1989 ( I think) Kelly had almost 400 yds in a 47-41 OT game was up there as well

Best I ever saw in person was Frank reich's first game as a starter.

Week 6, Rams in town with a 5-0 record on Monday night. It was 2 weeks after the Oiler OT game in 89. Kelly was out, the Bills were 3-2.

Reich looked aweful in the first 55 minutes as the Bills D held the powerful Rams to 13 points.

Down 13-9 late in the 4th, Reich puts a great drive together with a TD pass to Andre reed (carrying 2 rams on his back) with 2 minutes left. Bills 16-13

Rams go 4 and out, Thurman Thomas just has to kill the clock. Inexplicably, He fumbles the Ball with 1 minute left. No biggie, right? the Rams are 80 yards away.

Flipper Anderson takes the next Jim Everett pass 80 yds to the house, 20-16 Rams.

Bills get the ball back with 49 seconds left. 3 Straight screen passes to Thurm over the middle get the Bills from their 35 to the Ram 20. Reich puts the Bills in the Endzone with 6 seconds left.

Bills win 23-20

This game tonight reminded me a lot of the Houston Oiler OT game in Houston where they had a shootout. I think that Andre Reed broke a tackle on a short Jim Kelly completion and ran it in for the win...I think??

Unfortunately, I was on a flight and missed most of the game- that's the last time I schedule a flight without first checking the NFL schedule (priorities anyone?). The Bills have been around almost 40 years, went to 4 Super Bowls, and made the playoffs for most of the last 15 seasons- putting this game in the top 5 is a bold statement.

Out of curiousity, how many people actually saw the comeback game? The Bills were annihilated by the Oilers in a regular-season game a week before the comeback game and the weather was ****ty, so only 50,000 or so showed up to the stadium and the game was blacked out in Rochester and Buffalo.

i got it on tape from a friend that was living down south at the time, it was on down there so she taped it for me...i'll have to re-watch and see how many fans were gone by the end of the game

It was a great game, but top 5? Come on. How soon we forget:

1. OJ 2003 game
2. 1980 win over the fish to end that god forsaken streak
3,4. Crushing of Fins and Raiders in 1990 playoff run
5. Comeback vs. Oilers
6,7 1964 and 1965 championships
8. 1969 win over Jets. One of 3 or so Bills wins that year during Jet super bowl run.

Even some great game losses:

1. Super Bowl 25
2. Loss in Cleveland in 1989 playoffs (Ronnie Harmon drop)
3. Monday nite opener 1973? vs. fins when OJ ended holdout. Bills lose by 5, John Leypold misses 3 easy field goals and Saban cuts him the next day.
4. Loss in SD in 1980? playoffs, Jeff Nixon getting beat deep at the end, Fergy's gutsiest game.

There's 12 of the top of my head.

"so only 50,000 or so showed up to the stadium and the game was blacked out in Rochester and Buffalo."

I was there and there and it was definitly a full house. They just didn't sell it out in time to lift the blackout. That was my first game I ever went to. Tough to top that one.

IMHO, it was a terrible football game. Sure it was exciting...but both offense were poor matchups for the defenses, there were a ton of mistakes (ton) and lots of bad calls. I would be quite embarassed to rank that game as one of the best.

Fergie took over with no TOs and the ball somewhere near his own 20 with 25 or so seconds left. He threw the ball down to midfield and Hooks made a spectacular diving one handed catch- fully extended.

Back then they didn't spike the ball to kill the clock, fergie had to throw it out of bounds. Under 5 seconds left, the Hail mary to Hooks- remember like it was yesterday...
