The Bills were clearly comfortable making a big move down the draft board in round one from 10 to 27 after their trade with Kansas City. In an appearance on the John Murphy Show Friday, head coach Sean McDermott revealed that there were opportunities to move down the board again from 27 Thursday night.
“People were calling to take us out of the first round,” McDermott said. “I’m not a big fan of that with the situation we’re in right now. Tre (White) was sitting there, a good football player, we weren’t willing to get out of that spot.”
McDermott did not reveal which teams were calling them to get up to their pick at 27, but knowing that teams like the Browns and 49ers swung trades to get back into the bottom of the first round, it’s likely that those two teams contacted Buffalo about their pick at 27 last night.
