Not exactly. ECHL deals are only for 1 season, for the most part. Here's the thing: Cincinnati was chosen to host the NCAA men's basketball tourney in 2022. And the US Bank Arena(where the Cyclones play)might have to be either ripped down or heavily renovated as part of that agreement. The Cincinnati Gardens is being torn down later this year. And no other arena in the area has ice-making capability(not even the Cintas Center, Xavier's home arena...or Fifth Third Arena, U of Cincinnati's arena, which is itself being renovated). So Buffalo might be looking for ANOTHER ECHL affiliate come next season.
