Bad groin, managed 12 games. Chiefs saved 10 million cutting him, he's 29. He'd be a Whaley temp patch for a QB who wouldn't throw him enough balls, figuring he'd be who he was previously and the QB would use him.

No interest from me, anyway.

You'd have to be a fool to NOT want Macklin, problem is he's gonna get 10mil/season and watkin's contract will be up next year. I like Macklin, but I don't like him 10m/year

I'll be a fool then. People always seem to get stuck remembering the best version of a player and think it's still yesterday.

I'm not one of them. Guess that makes me a fool.

It was the 2 seasons prior to last. It's not like he's a decade removed from his best self.

Guys have to come cheap this time of the year. If he wants an opportunity around the vet minimum hell yeah bring him in. If he's still looking to cash in, I'll pass.

Maybe between Maclin and Watkins together the Bills could 16 games out of number one caliber WR.

I think the days of "Hey, this guy's out there!" at 1BD are over.

If a player fits his scheme, and has no character issues, and fills a need... perhaps McD brings him in for a look.

Otherwise, he will tend his own garden.

No hell get a Zach brown like contract. I don't think any player in history got more than 5 million a year at this point in the season

bringing in another expensive weapon is going to do nothing until we find a QB.

Could the Bills actually luck out and have the Chefs lay an egg this year and get a Top 10 pick out of the draft day trade down? This franchise could use a break like that.

They have start the year in Foxboro on Thursday Night and also play the NFC East this year. Tough schedule in a tough division.

but... but.... but...... the chiefs are automatically gonna pick after the 20th pick making our trade for their pick meaningless. haven't you heard?

Per ESPN alert, Shady is recruiting Maclin to Buffalo and said "don't be surprised if it happens".

Not sure how I feel about this.

I suppose if it is not a long-term contract, then why not?

Even if he's only 70-80% of what he once was, he makes us better. I like Zay a lot, but I'm not a huge fan of him being in the top 3 WR group from day 1. Maclin adds depth in case Sammy gets as well.

This seems like a no brainer.

Then again, it is Buffalo

Bills in preliminary talks with Maclin. Let's hope.

I don't think players released this time of year can expect the compensation they might if they were signing contracts in March. He'll get a deal for several million a year, but not 10 million, IMO. Consequently, he'll probably end up with a short contract, hoping to cash in one more time next March.

The Bills have the cap room to make it work.

At 6'0 198 lbs, Maclin has the size the Bills want in a WR.

Maclin just turned 29 years old in May, and his career stats are impressive.

http://www.nfl.com/player/jeremymaclin/80429/careerstats

He averages over 900 receiving yards and about 7 TDs per season.

KC cut him mainly because of their salary cap situation and Maclin's $9.75 million cap hit combined with a serious drop off in production last year.

My only question is, is he healthy?

McCoy, who was teammates with Maclin from 2009 through 2014 on the Philadelphia Eagles (http://www.espn.com/nfl/team/_/name/phi/philadelphia-eagles), said Sunday that he was the first person Maclin contacted after being released by the Chiefs.

It's nice to see McCoy being so visible and vocal, trying to help out making the team better.

He may emerge as a real leader this season.

Another little nugget on this. Bills QB Coach David Culley was Maclin's WR coach, twice.

He's nothing but a washed-up name, with a mediocre career:

I'de love to have a guy like Maclin on the roster but I just don't see the point this season. I'd rather rollover the additional cap space to next year than to have a really good WR help us in 5-6 games.

Interesting. I wonder if we'd move Sammy if we signed Mac
