BillsImpossible

If the Bills make the playoffs for the first time since before the turn of the century, it will be because of Tyrod Taylor's play at QB.
Hypothetical....let's say Taylor finishes the season with 25 TD's, 3,750 yards, 6 Int's, 7 running TD's and a playoff berth.
Bills win their Wildcard game, then lose in the AFC Divisional game...
Do the Bills hitch their wagons to Taylor's rising star and sign him to a long term deal, or do they pay him $18 million in 2018 and see what happens?
It all depends on how he plays in the playoffs. Getting to the playoffs is one thing, how one performs in the playoffs is another thing.
Andy Dalton, Alex Smith and Ryan Tannehill can get their teams to the playoffs, but I don't think they can win a Super Bowl Championship.
For whatever reason, the NFL is all about dominance and dynasties. That's just how it plays out, why? Maybe because every team that has ever been dominant always had a great QB?
Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Dallas, New England, Green Bay, Denver....
I hate to say it but I do not think Tyrod Taylor is a franchise quarterback that can dominate and build another NFL dynasty.
Even if the Bills make the playoffs in 2017, I don't think Tyrod Taylor is a future Kelly, Bradshaw, Roethlisberger, Staubach, Aikman, Brady, Favre, Manning or Elway.
Or is he? I hope to be so wrong and Tyrod makes me eat massive amounts of crow!
If the Bills make the playoffs after December 31st, 2017, everyone and their mother is going to say keep Tyrod.
Pay him the $18 million in 2018 and let it ride for one more year, or move on?
Trade? "Blasphemy!"

Yes, I know this is assuming the Bills make the playoffs, which is a bit of a stretch I must admit, but crazier things have happened.
Tyrod could slip on a mat and injure himself after Week 1, Peterman could start Week 2 and realizes he has the chicken pox after the game, and Cardale Jones could be called up from the practice squad in Week 3 and take the Bills to win Super Bowl 52 in Minnesota.
Don't call me crazy, call that guy bagging groceries nuts.
