    He wasn't their first captain. Floyd Smith was their first captain.

      Floyd Smith, followed by Gerry Meehan, then Jim Schoenfeld, then Danny Gare.

      Perreault wasn't Captain until 1982, his 12th-13th year with the Sabres.
