All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!

So endeth the fantasy that he'll be heading to Las Vegas.

That's true, but consider who else is out there: Marc-Andre Fleury. Antti Raanta. James Reimer. Phillip Grubauer. Jaroslav Halak. Among others.
If you're Vegas, do you consider selecting one or more of these experienced goalies....or Ullmark?

Most expansion teams take at least three goalies and if I'm Las Vegas I eye Fleury, Reimer and Ullmark as give you a proven winner, a guy who can play in this league as a backup/starter then a young guy with something to prove. I'm more concerned we haven't signed Petersen yet.
I agree with Jokeman but if I'm Vegas, I'm eyeing Zatkoff as my backup and then Malcolm Subban as the young guy with something to prove. Fleury to the Knights is almost a foregone conclusion at this point, imo.
Unless there are talks between Botterill and McPhee for the Sabres to give up some compensation for the Knights helping them out by taking Moulson, Bogo, or Gorges off their hands. I'd say William Carrier makes the most sense for the Knights to take.

Sub Raanta for Ullmark and I can buy that. Antti is relatively inexpensive, still in his prime and at times outdid The King(Lundqvist)between the pipes. Grubauer could work as well; he'll likely NEVER pass Holtby on the Caps' depth chart. Why not give him the opportunity to start in Vegas?

Petersen is probably going to free agency. He had a really good relationship with Murray, but....
I stand by my contention, Carrier makes the most sense for the Knights barring any deal between Botterill and McPhee.
And it will NOT surprise me one bit to find out that that's exactly what is happening(regarding the last part of your post).
