The Sabres are incredibly thin at wing.

Baptiste, Bailey, Nylander and Fasching can all spend another year in Rochester playing big minutes on the top two lines.

Bots strikes me as the kind of GM who feels no need to rush any of them into the NHL just to have them here. Actually, I think he's all about stacking the Amerks and having them compete for the Calder Cup. Let them win down there and get used to that culture.

That being said, players like Jagr and Vanek are facing one year vet deals.

id take a run at Jagr on a one year deal and offer to have him play on this line:

LW - EK9
C - Eichel
RW - Jagr

Vanek and Jagr?

Need to get someone, somehow, who can score outside Rachel, oreilly, Reinhart and okposo

Why sign anybody, let alone this ancient guy?

They haven't been a contender for years.

The speed component is more than covered with EK9 and Jack.

Jagr on that line puts up 25 and 40.

Vanek and Jagr?

One of the two, I say Vanek as cheaper and more in the tank.

Any team in the league should want to sign Jagr, tbh.

Not that he's a rush you must get him type of guy because he is 45, but everything he brings is well worth a 1-2 year deal.

His problem seems to be he wants a 5 year contract, which honestly is laughable, even if he likely will play til he's 50 as he states.

But he brings veteran leadership, cup and playoff experience, and can still score 20 goals and get you close to 45 points while being dependable enough to play 75+ games.

Agreed, if he's willing to do a year with maybe an option at a reasonable price, I say fine.....thin at the wing, brings scoring, leadership and knowledge; plus we wouldn't have to rush the youngsters....

Not only that, think about Jersey sales and ticket sales. he's jagr and he is a relic. People will pay for both reasons

I say we only bring him in if he regrows that sweet mullet he had in his Pittsburgh days. He was the poster child for hockey hair.

Vanek and Jagr?Yup... Without Shattenkirk, we have the cap room for 1 year deals. We sure as hell need the help on both wings. And I agree that our young guns need more time in the minors.

I would be the first in line for a Sabres Jagr jersey... and then putting him with Eichel... just fun!

As much as my id rejects this idea, my ego can't deny the fact that Jagr, aged as he may be, has improved every team he has played for since leaving the Rangers. So I wouldn't be against it. I just don't see him agreeing to live in Buffalo.
