Serious question: If Sammy Watkins shaved the cat off his head after a game, how much do you think it would weigh?

Sweat produces a lot of moisture in the hair of any athlete. Water is quite heavy.

After every NFL game (and practice), every player gets weighed so teams know how much fluid (hydration) was lost.



That's a huge head of hair on Sammy Watkins.

How much weight in water/sweat does it hold after a game?

I think it is a legit question. The proper amount of necessary intake of fluids could be skewed by the amount of hair water retention.

Do teams factor that in to their hydration analysis?

If Sammy Watkins or any other player is carrying an extra 5 pounds of water weight or more in their hair, wouldn't it be more beneficial to the player and the team without carrying the extra weight?

Swimmers shave every hair on their body because they know 1 hundredth of a second or less could be the difference between winning and losing.

The NFL isn't a game of inches anymore, it's a game of centimeters.

His foot was in/out of bounds by fractions of an inch, the ball didn't touch the ground, inconclusive evidence, the player's knee was not down, etc.

I posted this last year. One guy cut his dreadlocks off and lost 2-4 LB's of weight. I can't remember. They handicap HORSES by this amount. So stop being a self conceited idiot and cut your hair, not to mention wind resistance. The guy was clocked at like 35MPH during a game, he could be even faster.

Yeah as I am a woman but have had three to four inches of hair cut off at one point. But it did feel good to have it cut off. You can feel air on the heck and hair even.

I would guess and say Julio Jones had at least 2 pounds of dry hair cut off his head.

Collect all of those dreads off the barber shop floor, put them in water, take them out and weigh it.

Each dread lock is like a sponge. After a game or practice, Julio's hair had to weigh at least 5 pounds.

That is like a MLB player going up to the plate and swinging the bat with a doughnut still on the stick.
