Practice number two for the Buffalo Bills is in the books. As is to be expected at this early stage, the defense seems to be ahead of the offense. There are some areas of concern beginning to flash, but if there are concerns about one grouping, it could also mean that there is a lot to be excited about regarding the other side of that coin. Here are some of the story lines out of camp from day two.
Pittsford, N.Y. - The Buffalo Bills are now through two practices of training camp and look ready to ramp up the intensity, which will come over the weekend when the players put pads on for the first time.
Friday's practice was dominated by the defense for most of the afternoon. Here are our full takeaways from the day.

PITTSFORD, NY (WKBW) - With the first two days of training camp practice now over and done with for the Buffalo Bills, they’ll now advance into the next phase of the summer workouts: padded practices. Over the past two days, the Bills have built a base, and we’ll now see the intensity of the sessions increase. Even still, there were some clear standouts and things to take away from the team’s second practice of the summer.
It came a year later than planned, but defensive end Shaq Lawson finally made his St. John Fisher College debut Thursday night as the Bills opened their 18th session on the Pittsford campus.
Lawson, the Bills’ first-round draft pick last year, missed most of the 2016 off-season program, all of training camp at Fisher, and the first six games of the regular season due to shoulder surgery. So, when he stepped foot on the artificial turf inside Growney Stadium on a cloudy, muggy evening, it was the first time Rochesterians grabbed an up-close look at the former All-America from Clemson.

PITTSFORD -- The Buffalo Bills couldn't have asked for more perfect weather for their second practice of training camp at St. John Fisher College.
It was mostly sunny, and a nice breeze kept it just cool enough for the players and a good crowd of spectators, some of whom no doubt started their weekend early to take in the mid-afternoon session.

Notes from the second day of Bills training camp at St. John Fisher College:
—There is a legitimate and healthy competition going on for the team’s nickel cornerback position between Kevon Seymour and Leonard Johnson. Seymour played 15 games last season, starting three of them as a rookie. The 27-year old Johnson played the nickel CB spot for head coach Sean McDermott last year in Carolina and for Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier when he was in the same position in Tampa. Through two days, Johnson has been getting the starting reps as the extra DB with Seymour working in after that. However, Seymour also got some work on the outside with the second-unit defense with Shareece Wright on the other side opposite him.
