    YRC - DE/OLB Eddie Yarborough

I love rooting for guys like this to make it. He's enthusiastic, good natured, has some skill and caught Waufle's attention. Good luck Eddie.

There really isn't much at DE after Hughes and Lawson, this kid could have a legit shot at being the primary back-up.

Looks like hes in the 49th percentile athletically for edge rushers so that bodes well for making the team as well. He's at least average for his position per combine drills.

I'm throwing the challenge flag on the inclusion of this thread as YRC eligible.

This is clearly a fork from my original Day 2 Camp Summaries thread, post #2!

As is to be expected at this early stage, the defense seems to be ahead of the offense. There are

As others have pointed out, training camp starts this week. The off-season, for all intents and purposes, will officially be over and make way for the pre-season and eventually the regular season. A lot is going to start happening, and there is going to be a lot to talk about. My challenge to all of the fans checking into these

Yard Rat's Challenge for every zoner to post a new thread every day of training camp.

There is only one guy competing for a backup spot who has any kind of experience edge- Ryan Davis. Davis has been in the league as a role player for 5 years. That might give him an edge, but training camp can do a lot to change that. Other competition includes Jake Metz - whose claim to fame is having played professional football in China, Marquavius Lewis, Ian Seau - nephew of the legendary Junior Seau, and Max Valles - a holdover fringe player from the Wrecks Ryan era. That's not exactly imposing competition.

But I'd call it LFC, and I think a couple of people here might guess why...

There is not a complete NFL defensive end on the team behind Hughes/Lawson. According to info gleaned from various draft profiles and scouting reports: Metz has nice size and not a lot of athleticism, Lewis is not real quick, Seau lacks natural athleticism and bend, and is bit undersized despite having a nice 40 time, Valles is raw - an athlete trying to play football, as opposed to a football player, Ryan has had 5 years t develop and hasn't. Yarbrough may be a little undersized and his athletic measurables average, but seems to be a better rounded prospect than some on the roster.

You should be honored I forked you. I don't fork just anyone. But no, I fork you and you're mean to me. I see how you are.

I feel cheap. But I'd fork you again. It was a good fork.
